Ecosure 2800 Litre Underground Water Tank

  • When digging out your hole for the tank you will need to make the depth an extra 100 – 150mm for a concrete base for the tank to sit on.  At this point you should also dig out the trenches for your pipe work and filter box. All pipe work use is 4” (110mm).

Leave at minimum 150mm gap around the tank to allow for back filling.

  1. Slide/lower the tank into the hole. Cut the neck ring provided to the required length. If the neck ring sits loose may need to add a silicon seal.

You will need to back fill the area around the tank with concrete above the first strengthening ring or 455mm. Your ground conditions will affect this.

  1. The filter box can be installed anywhere along the inlet pipe providing you can get access to the filter for cleaning. Run your pipe work making sure the inlet from the filter has a sight drop to ensure water flow.

  1. Back fill the surrounding area of the tank with surrounding resources (Pea shingle preferable). Also see 1a

    1a.
Ground conditions are not the same in every area should your water table rise; your tank may rise as well.  If you have a high water table then it is recommended that you back fill more than the first strengthening ring or 450mm.

When connecting multiple tanks together

  1. The joints connecting the tanks together at the bottom should be surrounded by concrete to ensure the pipes stay connected.
